This is about the reincarnation of the anoto pen. New player, new chances. The fact that I find annoying is that this trick still depends on the paper with patterns. Without the patterns it would be so much cooler (think wii).

Cool science-fiction short from Bruce Sterling. The story didn’t really grab me, but he presents a nice concept on how physical and digital architecture will become intertwined.

I can see this growing into the ‘ajax’ of 2008. This is the next step in web2.0. Where we needed constant polling, now the service can just ping the webclient. Cool stuff, and it can already be done today.

Although I had seen this before, I lost a reference. It would be great to automate uploading documents to mediawiki this way. It seems not so usable for any user.

(Article is in Dutch). First I was triggered by the title, and only then I discovered that the research has been done with people from my company. The algorithm is able to detect articles within pictures or scans, even if they’re not fully visible.
