What I like about this post is not the Excel part, but the ‘defaults matter’ point. Applications should be simple, therefor default should be sensible. In this example there are 25 options, and the default is not ‘good behaviour’. Thus, bad design.
What this post is actually is about is the division between syntax, semantics and above that pragmatics. When there is a general semantic way to specify RESTservices, it doesn’t automatically mean the pragmatics become easier to program.
