Yesterday I found a story about a small startup that does on-demand scanning. This is the other way around: a webservice that provides API access to the (snail)mail system. Really easy to send real mail from an application or webservice. Cool stuff.
Intruiging comparison between cloud computing and ‘sharecropping’. Basic assumption here is that when the cloud goes down, you’re screwed. The remainder of the article talks about the new (real) distributed database Prophet, challenging stuff.
I love seeing protocols being ‘ab-used’ in briljant ways. Here Jabber XMPP is used as a substitute to polling (which sucks) RSS feeds. Smart thinking. Inspirational to think how to use protocols or standards for the wrong reasons…
